Turonien.
Dérive de Cibolaites.
Tours initiaux comprimés. Tubercules siphonaux arrondis ou claviformes élevés, coïncidant avec les côtes et formant une carène crénelée. Côtes droites ou légèrement sinueuses. Tubercule ombilical faible. Tubercules latéro-ventraux interne et externe forts. Derniers tours pouvant devenir carrés en section, avec une corne latéro-ventrale disproportionnée allant parfois jusqu’à absorber le tubercule ombilical.

Cénomanien supérieur à Coniacien supérieur.
Formes comprimées. Section des tours carrée à rectangulaire. Carène finement à grossièrement dentelée. Tubercules ombilicaux et latéro-ventraux internes et externes plus ou moins proéminents. Les latéro-ventraux interne et externe peuvent fusionner à l’âge adulte pour donner une grande corne. Chez certaines formes, l’ornementation s’affaiblit avec l’âge.

Cénomanien supérieur à Campanien moyen.
Cette famille dérive probablement du genre Acanthoceratidae Thomelites.
Formes d’involutes à évolutes, comprimées, de section ovale à carrée, avec une carène continue ou dentelée. Les côtes portent de 1 à 5 tubercules.

Albien inférieur à Maastrichtien.
Formes typiquement fortement costulées tendant à développer une tuberculation proéminente, mais incluant aussi une large variété d’autres types.
