Bathonien supérieur.
Genre regroupant des macroconques dont les formes microconques associées seraient représentées par le genre Delecticeras Arkell 1951.
Formes lisses ou à costulation falcoïde. Carène élevée dans les tours internes, puis le ventre devient simplement tranchant. Ombilic très petit ou occulté par le débordement des tours successifs, sauf sur le dernier tour. Lobes accessoires tendant à être digités. [Arkell 1957]

Bajocien inf. à Hauterivien.
Comprimés à oxycônes. Involutes. Fort dimorphisme sexuel. Macroconques à côtes primaires distantes, falcoïdes à falciformes, puis devenant lisses. Ouverture simple. Sutures denses et complexes (sauf chez les Clydoniceratinae), à lobes profondément incisés, décroissant linéairement en taille du ventre au dos. Microconques à apophyses très développées.
